Overview
"Time of the Year" by Mical Teja kickstarts the 2027 Carnival season with a fun, bold, and energetic video. Built around the idea that after making it through life's many seasons, there's a time to celebrate and enjoy life, the visual follows Teja on a journey from the Alberta Badlands to the hills of Trinidad.
Shot across Alberta, Canada, and Paramin, Trinidad, the video features Teja cruising through the Badlands in a vintage 1965 Valiant convertible before making his way to Paramin, where choreographed dancers, vibrant performances, and a custom-built, life-sized clock bring the concept to life. Blending striking landscapes with playful set pieces and the spirit of Caribbean celebration, the visual sets the tone for another exciting Carnival season.
